Ammo for Winchester 1906

I recently acquired a Winchester model 1906 S/N 763XXX, and it is really fun to shoot. Since it is obviously rather old, is it ok to use CCI Mini Mag hi velocity long rifle ammo, or should I stick with standard velocity stuff? How about CCI Short Hollow Points? Are they ok?

I know the high velocity ammo will work in this rifle, but will it damage the rifling?

I would stick with standard velocity .22 LR or standard velocity .22 short. The former would be better as it would not crud up the chamber and require cleaning before LR's could be used.

1906 was before the high velocity 22 was developed .So stick to the standard loads. This is especially important with a semi-auto ,HV loads will damage the gun !!

Thanks for your responses. Semi-auto? This is a pump.
