Wolf Primers for 223

I have never loaded rifle just 45acp. Now I need to load some 223.
I need primers and the only ones I can find are Wolf SM and SM Mag.
Will the mag primers work in a 223? I know Wolf makes a primer for 223 but I can't find them.

Yes, wolf small rifle magnum primers work very well in 223.

Buy em, the mag primers work well. I'm pretty sure they're the same as the wolf 223 ones anyway. Have fun with rifle, it was a pain when I went from super easy straight wall pistol brass to doing rifle. I cant stand brass prep, but with good tools its not to bad.

Wolf Magnum Primers are very good primers I have used them plenty in my 223 reloads with excellent results.

The "Russian" SR mag primers are as good or better than any domestic primers for me. I really like them with Varget or IMR8208 with 69-77 gr bullets.

I tested out some Wolf SRM primers with 844T surplus powder and some 40g Z-Max with great results.

Bought 5k of them when they were super cheap $14 per 1k.

I purchased 3 cases from Wideners without knowing how good they were just because they were on sale for $75 per case of 5000. Just shot a test load with mil surplus WC844 and 62gr ss109 perpetrator bullets. Hot load and primers showed no pressure signs. They have a nice thick cup, and that's what you want if you shoot in an AR platform because of floating firing pin.

I have shot many regular Wolf SR primed loads in my AR and bolt action without any issue. Wolf makes some of the better primers on the market.

I have shot a lot of Wolf primers though most were large pistol. I would use them in small rifle loads without a second of hesitation.

There is some history of an occasional bad(dud) primer, Ive had a few in Wolf LRM. They are preferred by many bench resters because they can produce extreme accuracy. Wolf and Tula are the same product from the same factory. The word seems to be that the magnum versions have thicker, harder cups, rather than an increase in priming compound. This is good with M1/M1A and ARs. Outside of a few FTF with the LRMs I quite happy with them.
