Browning-380 auto, hard to pull Slide
The slide on this auto is very hard to pull back. I have stoned the hammer
face and this helped some, I have assembled the gun without the recoil spring and found the slide works freely without the hammer spring installed. Is there a replacement spring that would help with this situation ? or, Any suggestion ? Good shooting Lindy |

Before going to all the trouble of changing the gun, and maybe risking a loss of reliability, make sure you are using the best of techniques for racking the slide.
Most folks I see at the range don't, and struggle with their smaller autos. Do a web search and youtube search on the subject to find out how. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbayNc6D9HY

There is probably noting the matter with your gun. I've shot my neighbors Browning and the slide is not easy to rack back. I have a Beretta that is essentially the same gun and it's a bit difficult too. It's just the design. Gwillikers advice is right on.

this subject, but now I can teach the young lady who owns this gun the method shown on Youtube. perhaps it will make it easier for Her. Good Shooting Lindy |
