DSM Gun Show.....observations.

Observations from the Des Moines gun show.....

.22 ammo is available, $55-to-$90 for 500 rounds

9mm......hardest to find, self defense box of 20 rounds....$50

Very few primers, saw some around $50 for 1000

Ar-15's have come down in price....from an average of $2K a month ago, now $1200-to-$1400.

Stripped lower AR receivers......$200-to-$400

Sub-compact CCW handguns are plentiful....lot's of wives and girl friends shopping.

Concealed carry holster vendors have doubled.

Slow movers that most people ignored......used shotguns, old revolvers, and target rifles.

Hold your nose....

I may go over to the fairgrounds to my metro areas big gun & outdoor gear show. I'll hold my nose & and try, I mean TRY to keep my eyes from rolling.

The last gun show got a big media crowd & was SRO. FFL transfers & FBI checks took approx 6-8 hours.

I'd like to see just how bad it is. $50.00 for 20-25 rounds of LE grade handgun rounds is just pathetic. No way around it.
I hope they cleared out the IL Nazis & yahoos that seep in but who knows.

Saw at least a half dozen vendors there last night with ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR bricks of 22. That's right $100 for 500 22's. Told a couple of them not to whine in 6-12 months about the big chain stores under cutting them as they will be the only places i shop for now on.

Buds for guns, midway and brownells for accessories, walmart for ammo and i will do everything in my power to talk down the LGS's and remind people about their 500% markups and i will hope they go out of business.

How were the crowds there?

Did you guys have to wait in line a long time to get in the door? I skipped the last show there because of the crowd. I was thinking of going in the morning. Kind of in the need for a varmint rifle and thought I might look there.
