Does anyone know what the term "reverse trigger" means?

I have heard of a "RELEASE" trigger on a shotgun. The way it works is that you pull the trigger in to set it and release it to fire the gun. I have shot one with this in it but they are very dangerous in my oppinion.

Release Trigger

38, is correct, about pulling the trigger to set the firing pin spring.

Dangerous? no. Do you have to know what you are doing? yes.

Certainly not for your average shooter.

Release triggers are typically used by longtime shooters that have a terrible flinch reflex.

I have never seen one on a rifle though. Although I have wondered why.

I've seen some BR rifles with a "set trigger". Normally it's about a pound pull. You pull the trigger forward and it "sets" it so you even think about touching it and it goes off.

U.S. Patent found for "Release Trigger"

Thank all of you for your input. A quick search of the U.S. Patent database revealed United States Patent 3983654, which describes a release trigger.

They work like kind of like a back-tension release for a bow.
