Refinishing stock on Verona LX501

Any tips from someone who has refinished the "lacquer" type finish on a Verona LX501 O/U shotgun? I am looking to change the finish to an "oiled" finish. Also, has anyone ever seen a pistol grip end cap on this model gun, and if so where they may be found for purchase? Thanks, The Burro
