mini-14 extractor

Can you make a series 181 extractor fit a old series 180. what is the difference

Don't have an answer but if it can't be done, Brownells lists a replacement 180 series extractor.

I checked Brownell they want $49.00 for a series 180 and $9.00 for later series that why I was wondering. what the difference that make 40 bucks makes?
