Finally my First Deer Pic
My very first deer, is the doe. My second doe, which is a little bigger, is still in the truck. We had just returned from checking it in and hadn't had a chance to hang it up.

Congrats!! Those "firsts" are always fun to reflect on in the years to come.
So was it taken with shotgun? muzzleloader? Who shot the buck?? Care to replay the events for everyone. Snake |

My friend got the buck on opening morning using a 30-30 with iron sights.
My first doe was taken with a .308 Remington PSS at about 80 yards late in the afternoon. My second doe ran up and over the ridge behind me. I took my shot at about 50 yards. One of the first lessons I learned was my Remington PSS makes a great bench rifle, but not one to lug around the woods. I tried a friend's Winchester Model 70. I like to looks, feel, and weight of the Model 70. For this next season, my cousin and I talked about taking a muzzleloader class at my IWLA Chapter this year. |

I believe my first deer hunt would not have been successful without the advice from TFL and particularly "The Hunt" forum. The responses to my posts regarding ammo selection, sighting my scope, and field dressing helped very much.
In addition, other posts by members provided other useful info as well. I don't believe there is any other forum quite like TFL. |
