i spotted a s&w shield 9mm and picked it up this afternoon. fte!

$500 + tax. only ammo i have is a few gold dots for sd and some steel case herters 115 gr that worked fine in my glock 19. went in the back yard and shot 2 gold dots and some steel case. on the 3rd steel case ammo, using the 7 round mag, it failed to eject. is this normal break in or should i be worried?

i noticed the mags are a little hard to click in the mag well and they stick out about 1/8" maybe. is that normal with the shield?

yes i stripped the gun and cleaned/oiled before i went shoot. i shot 16 rounds total. 1 fte.

the mags go in real easy with the slide locked back.

I wouldn't sweat it. For two reasons:

1) it's new and it's tiny. It may need a break-in period.

2) it choked on crappy ammo.

Haven't had one failure to anything since I got either of mine. They are great pistols.

Sounds like you got a lemon. I'll give you $100.00 for it and dispose of it properly

I have had zero problems or malfunctions in both of our Shields. Shoot it some more and if there's an issue S&W has great CS.

Edit: the white dot on my front sight popped of on the 3rd magazine in but they sent me a new sight immediately and haven't had any problems since.

Shoot some better ammo through it. I'd guess that will solve your problem.

Mine popped out also after about 800 rounds. I know they'd send me a new one but i fixed it with liquid paper.
