Question for Giraud Trimmer owners!

I am contemplating a Giraud trimmer. There website shows many different case bushings. I recognize that you need different cutters for each caliber. And, you couldn't possibly get a 300 Mag case into a 300 Savage bushing. However, is it possible to use one bushing for SIMILAR cartridges with the same neck length? i.e. .308 and the 30-06 or, 250 Savage and the 22-250 or, 222 and the 222 Rem Mag. You get my drift? What say you??

Actually, you can use the same cutter. You have to adjust it's radial position on the head, so some like to buy separate cutters to save themselves the setup time when they switch neck diameters. If you were running two .30 cal cases, though, you would leave the cutter alone and just change bushings.

The reason the bushings change is the shoulder angles change. You could try using the .30-06 holder for the .25-06 (same parent case) but I expect the lack of neck surround will make it more likely you could spoil and case by tipping it a little. That would be OK, except the special cutter inserts could be chipped by that, and they are expensive to replace because they are custom made to cut the VLD chamfer and deburr simultaneously with the trimming action.

If you download the PDF instructions for the special blank bushings, you'll find they are cut with a chamber reamer for the cartridge being trimmed.
