When doing Cowboy Mounted Shooting is there any advantages or disadvantages when it comes to barrel lengths, for pointing and holding a pattern?

Howdy Terri,
Mounted Shooting is almost a point-and-shoot affair, since they use blanks with a filler, like corncob,to break the balloons. Barrel length wouldn't really affect the pattern, since pistols aren't "choked",per se. I would think that a pistol with a longer barrel would be easier to point shoot, but remember that you'll be going to an from the leather on a moving horse,so a shorter barrel may be easier in that regard.
