Taurus 605 (without porting) good for IDPA
I don't see any reason it wouldn't be, it is only 5-shot. I noticed that the Taurus 85 is in their "non-inclusive" list, and it's a 5-shot as well. Obviously the optional porting would be right out.
Thought I'd see if anybody would venture an opinion on this.

I don't know it by model number, but if it is not ported and does not have a barrel over 4" it is allowable in IDPA.
You can have fun with a 5-shooter. You can learn a lot about the gun's and your capability. You can get good stress practice. You will not be competitive against sixshooters in the hands of shooters of equal ability. There are some events in strings of 5 or less, there are very few stages and no matches I know of that are 5-shot neutral. It will be fine for BUG shoots but if you want to be competitive in the main match, get a 6-shot. |

Thanks, that's kinda what I expected. I have a feeling a 605 would be a bit small in my hands anyhow.
