rem 870 20?

im looking into changeing a 870 20ga stock set... i want to put the hogue overmolded set on... my ? is do the 20 and 12 use the same stocks..... does anyone here know ?

They (12 gauge 870 & 20 gauge 870 stock/forend) are not interchangeable with one another due to different receiver, barrel, and magazine tube sizes.

If you watch HERE, sometimes you can find great deals on stocks & parts.

I didn't know that Remington sold Hogue stocks or if is made in 20 gauge. You might watch Ebay. Most for sale at present in 20 seem to be youth or junior. Probably because the kid grew into a standard stock. Cabelas has something. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabel...end/741072.uts

The 870 20 gauge standard weight has the same size action, mag tube, stock as the 12 gauge. The 20 gauge lightweight is a different size (for those parts) and the 12 gauge stocks and fore ends will not fit. My 870 wingmaster from the early 1960's is standard weight and takes the 12 gauge parts including a 12 gauge mag extension tube.

OK, if you have an OLD 870 they might interchange, but recent examples use different sized receivers.
