just got an e-mail notice... boydes now has stocks for the Ruger Gun Site Scout
the Ruger was one of the rifles I was looking at for a new bolt action .308...
the short length of pull, was one of the issues I had with the carbine.... I was looking for something more shootable, & less Assulty... http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/subgrouping.htm?cat=6798 thoughts ???

It doesn't do anything the factory stock doesn't do. Both are heavy laminate and look virtually the same. The Boyd stock is just brown instead of gray. The assaulty look comes from the long detachable mag, sights, and flash hider, not the stock.
What someone needs to do is make a lightweight synthetic for it and reduce the weight by about 1 lb. |

... & come up with a magazine that holds 20 rounds & is no bigger than the grossly oversized Ruger 10 round... or a 10 rounder that's half the size of the Ruger magazine
I'm not personally interested in a composite stock, but I do like the walnut version that Cabelas's has, but even with the 3 ugly spacers in, it's still too short for me... Quote:
the biggest hold back at this point for me, is the "stylized" proprietary oversized magazines...
