Looking for the value of my old shotguns to sell
I am looking to sell some of my shotguns but am unsure of their current value. I am also unsure as to the how the rating system is guaged, e.g. 98%, 95%, 90%, 80%, etc.
If you can help me better understand the value and how to rate my shotguns I would appreciate it. Thanks. Your best indicator will be to go to the three main auction sites and look at CLOSED auctions for guns of the same description that ACTUALLY sold - asking price is one thing, what was paid can be something entirely different.
95% or better needs to be almost brand new - VERY FEW marks, NO stock dings, no bluing wear beyond putting it a case, etc......... Those guns have zero collector value, so you are looking at a few hundred each at best - if you have ANY interest in shotgun sports - shoot them and enjoy them; if they have any major family history connection, pass them to someone in the family who will appreciate them - otherwise, sell them and get something you want |

Ballpark figures:
Rem 1100 30" fixed choke- $300-$400 Extra barrel w/screw-in chokes- $150-$200 max Sold together- $400 firm. Winchester 1200- $275-$325 The Marocchi is a little different beast. Look to get about $700-$800-ish, more for the right buyer, but they are relatively unknown in the USA. And, as usual, condition is everything. If you advertise them as 95% guns, and a buyer feels that they are 75% at best, you will have to take an offer or hold onto the guns. If rusty, deduct even more. Hard to find parts? They become worth even less.

Almost impossible to give you values without seeing a photo ...
I agree with OneOunce - there isn't any collector value to these guns ...but it doesn't mean they aren't worth a few hundred dollars - depending on condition of course. Its odd to me that an "Invector Plus" choke system that is unique to Browning - and now maybe Winchester - got into a Marocchi ?? Marocchi isn't a popular gun / and I frankly have never seen one around ... The Rem 1100 - if its in good shape - may have the most value of the bunch ...at least with the barrel that has the screw in chokes. |
