National Targets

Just got back from spending a week at the NMLRA National Shoot at Friendship Indiana. Wife won 1st place in both of these 25 yd. matches.
They score 99 on both targets. She shot these back to back.

Daughter got second in a 25 yd match, she's 14. I got 1st in a "As Issue"
revolver match. A good time was had by all.

That's some dang fine shooting, congrats.

I just spent a week at the Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association championship shoot and I think my targets are cursed.

My first non scoring practice target.

I adjusted the sights and shot a second non scoring practice target, it would have scored a 93

Then I posted my scoring target for record, the target with the curse on it and shot an 86

I think from now on, I'm going to find someone and bet him money that my practice targets outscore my record targets, that way, no matter what happens, I win and the curse won't know which way to go.

That sounds like my shooting most of the time. The wife's back was killing
her, and she couldn't hardly walk. I asked her afterwards how she did that.
She doesn't know. Sometines it just happens. She did tell me the 9 was the
7th shot on both targets.

I think it's official target anxiety. Put up a target with the official sticker on it and suddenly my arm gets tired and any attempt to increase the pressure on the trigger results in my gun shaking like a dog trying to pass a peach pit.

I know it's all mental.
I was so disgusted with my caplock score that I didn't even practice with my flintlock pistol, just posted my targets and got it over with, and I shot a 79 on the 50 yard target, the high score of the shoot for that match.

During the October shoot, there is a match called the longhunter match, 15 shots at three critters hiding in a tree at 25 yards (the nightmare target), in one 30 minute relay. I often enter that match not serious but just to loosen up. You don't have time to aim and aim and aim. You gotta get up there and shoot and then reload.
The time pressure makes me get up there and get the shot done and I usually shoot surprisingly well, boosting my confidence.

I think we're all lucky to be doing what were doing. Wife's back was killing her
And she blew her 50 yd target with a 80. She is a upper 80's shooter. She then
Posted her 25 yd and shot a 99. Her agg was 179. The lady that came in second
Shot a 178. This makes the wife's 8 th National win. I'm not over this Bell's Palsy
Thing and the only thing I shot was the As Issue Revolver matches. I came in
1st in the 25 yd match and 3rd in the agg. Daughter is 14 and she got second
In her 25yd match and 4th in the agg. I used my Euroarms Remington with
454 balls and 14 gr Swiss plus cream of wheat filler. Boy that gun is a tack driver. First 5 shots just one ragged hole in the 10 ring. I was very happy. As
You know i'm 70. Don't know how much longer I will be able to keep this up.
