SubSonic Loads for 308

At the recommendation of another member, moved this over here from the NFA section.......

I have shot some TTI subsonic ammo and love it. Groups excellent. Am getting back into reloading and wanted to try my hand at some subsonic loads for my 308.

Just curious if anyone out there loaded some subsonic for their 308?????

I have not tried loading sub-sonic for my .308 Win. but I have reloaded reduced loads using 16gr of Blue Dot behind a Nosler 125gr Ballistic Tip with Federal 210 primers, this load will shoot 1" @ 100yds through my 1:12 twist barrel, I have not tried this load with magnum primers Yet. This Blue Dot load shoots clean and cool, and has been a great varmint load for me.

Here's a thought, how about IMR Trail Boss with a 160ish grain lead bullet ? I would guess 9.0 grains of TB would be close to sub-sonic in a .308 Win. Trail Boss should decrease the possibility of flash over. I Would try this with Lead bullets only. http://www.carrollsweb.com/gunshop/h...t_bullets.html

Subsonic 9mm loads

Does anyone have any experience or any load data for a 9mm Sub Sonic load?

I've loaded subsonic 308 using Titegroup.

9mm subsonic is easy.

I don't load 9x19, but with 124-147gr bullets and a fast burning powder you should have no problem. http://www.nationalbullet.com/pdf/winpdfcat.pdf

.308 Subsonic Loads

Try 6.7 grs. of Bullseye and a 150-gr. RNSP (.30-30 bullet). You may want to bump the charge up 0.2 grs. to make sure the bullet exits the barrel, but this load gives me 1035 fps and 2.5 - 3" groups at 100 yards. I used large pistol primers, but large rifle primers should be OK. A chronograph is a BIG help when loading subsonic rounds.
