9mm/38 Super/can you make 380 on the 650? (but the case head mimics the 9)

Out of your list only 38/357 use the same conversion. Although 9mm and 38 super use the same conversion 380 does not, it requires a different shell plate and station 1 locator (the same as 223). There are only 7 pistol conversions that interchange

Well, that IS depressing. Why won't the .45 LC and .45 ACP share the same set?

Different shell plate and retaining buttons due to different rim size.

If I had the manual, I would read it. I prefer to gather information BEFORE sinking $500 in a press. I asked because I knew some experienced reloaders could give me some info and tips. Sorry I bothered YOU, GuateShooter.

To everyone who REALLY answered my question, thanks a lot!

No offense intended, but that's a bit harsh. He gave you the correct info, you can visit their website and see: http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/con...Conversion_Kit

Additionally, all Dillon manuals are online, so his other suggesting (read the manual) is equally valid, even not owning the press.

You didn't say *anything* about considering buying an XL650, you just asked a question. Until I read your (rude) reply, I had no idea you didn't own one yet.

Grow up, and don't slam people who answer your questions just because you expect them to be mind-readers. Good luck with the reloading, the shared kits are listed in the link I gave you.

Also the 45 acp and .308 rifle share the same shell plate.

One is a rimmed case and the other rimless (and as noted is a .308 case head).

Keltyke: Sorry, but I got a chuckle out of your cost estimate for the 650. True, the cost of the 650 is around $500, not including dies; and the 7 conversion kits (Shellplate, locator buttons, powder funnel) will cost $73 each or an additional $511. And if you want to add 9 Quick Changeover Kits (Toolhead, TH Stand and Powder Measure) for $95 each or add another $855. Or instead of the quick change kits, just get 9 toolheads at $25 each or an additional $225, and change the one powder measure each time. But the $500 press cost is about 1/3 of the final setup price.

As I said "for the press". Yea, we've already calculated the total cost. We're planning on starting small, with 2-3 calibers at first. We'll get the extra die heads so we don't have to reset everything each time we change calibers.

There are a lot of other parts you'll need other than just the shell plate for 308, he said 650 not LNL. As for me missing the .357 sig I just copied what was in my (old) manual. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Most other calibers, too. We're planning on buying the complete conversion kit for each caliber rather than try to figure out what shares and what doesn't. That way, we can keep each kit, complete, in the box until we use it.

I guess Shoney missed one detail too. The conversion kits do not come with dies, you’ll need to add that to your bill as well.

We've already found out the only common die we have is the .38 spcl./.357 mag.
