45 acp problem

i have a friend that loaded up about 200 rounds of 230 gr fmj with 5.0-5.5 gr of bullseye in 45 acp. used cci magnum primers instead of standard by mistake.
are the unsafe at that load?should he pull them and fire off empty cases?
was loading them for his xds.
i was not sure what to tell him,my thought was to pull them?

I would inform him that those are max loads and go ahead and fire them. Next time, choose different primers and different powder.

Alliant lists 5.7 as max for that load, so they will be OK but a little on the hot side.

It's been discussed much and the consensus seems to be that magnum primers are for more reliable ignition with some of the powders used for magnum loads.
Otherwise they don't seem to have the effect that folks expect.

Nothing wrong with BE under a 230gr FMJ. That combo has been doing just fine since day 1.
