Please help me decide: MK25 or P226 Black Stainless

Hello all, considering picking up my first 9mm and could use some assistance in making a decision. My top two choices are either the MK25 or the P226 Black Stainless. Anyone have any idea as to which one to get? All comments will be appreciated and if you have a recommendation outside the two choices listed, I am interested in reading those as well.

For background, the gun will primarily be used as a range gun, but may consider carrying it at one point. Nevertheless, considering my size, the weight of the gun is not too big of a concern for me. Accuracy and durabily are my priorities.

I have a SIG P226 (original 2005 Blackwater edition) and it is a superb pistol. For my frame it is too big to conceal or carry, but it is quite possible the best shooting auto-loading handgun I've ever owned. Mine was bought new about 5 years ago, and has somewhere between 4500-5000 rounds through it without a hiccup (I used to keep a range log rigorously, but have neglected that for awhile now).

It and my SIG P232 are both pistols I will never trade or sell.

both probably good. i have been lusting over a p266 and have decided to get the mk25.

it is 2nd on my list though, looking for another 1911 in similar price range first, so my mk25 will have to wait but you should go for it.

I have never shot one, just held, but I really like its full metal frame and feel.

The biggest differences I can see are the rails and weight. The Mk25 has a square M1913 rail, which will suit accessories better than SIG’s standard rounded rail. Finally, the Black Stainless will be half a pound heavier than the Mk25. That preference is up to you, but personally, I would prefer a lighter gun.

If you are set on a Sig and will be carrying at some point, consider a used 229. There's just no reason to waste money on Sig's inflated new gun prices when you can get a used one for about $450.

Keep in mind though, they all have a very strong first DA pull that tends to throw off your first shot. I got rid of my 220 for that reason, among others.

Myself I would look for a 226 made in the early to mid 90s and spend the money you save on ammo.

I have the MK25 and love it. Can't help when trying to compare it to the other one. You won't be disappointed either way.
