That .38 S&W correction. It's .361 vs .357, if anyone is interested.

Now a reloader could... AH, but why would he?

Samsmix is correct. The .38 S&W's RNL bullet is .361" in diameter. A 146 grain RNL bullet in a 4" barrel leaves the barrel at a nominal 685 fps and 150 foot-pounds of energy (these are 'black powder' velocities). While not a "stellar" perfromer, it is in the league of a spicy .32 S&W Long. In a pinch, it will do the job, but a solid-frame revolver can be loaded to modern pressures.

ruger lcr 22lr with remington yellow jackets: reliably shreds a 3" phone book at 3 yds in a 3" group. i doubt a bad guy would be happy.
