Converting trigger on pocket Remington

Since we are on the movie gun subject. I was wondering what would it take and where to source the parts. To turn this:

Into THIS:

I like this little pocket Remmie, but I don't like the idea of that spur trigger. Just kicking it around.

I think it would be a custom job. There is a picture of one in Dennis Addler"s book on cartridge conversions that was done in the day but the trigger and guard are much larger than in the picture you show. I have thought that if ever bought one I would want to do the same thing.

....that I have owned three of the 1963 Remingtons and IMO the most disappointing thing about the revolver is the trigger design.

But my thought is that it would be tough to develop a fully enclosed trigger guard for such a small revolver that would accomodate the pointing finger of most shooters.

I can see why Remington settled upon the design they did.

Have you shot both the 1849 / 1848 AND the 1863? If so which one shoots better? And comparing the two, which one would you prefer. I guess the Remmie would be good for the 32 conversion cylinder, but I'm not a conversion cylinder kind of guy. Thoughts?

I have shot the 63 Remington and I have an 1862 Colt.

I like the Remington which is a steel frame Pietta. I don't like the Colt which is a brass frame ASM.

The Remington is made extremely well and could be a good candidate for a conversion. I am not a conversion kind of guy either, but if I was, this one might work well.

I can't speak to the Colt. It is a wall hanger. Not because it is a Colt, not because it is an ASM, and not because it is a brass frame. But because this particular pistol is not one I want to shoot.

How many of these were 'done in the day'?

Also, is the one in the picture (with the smaller trigger/guard) an original or a replica?
