Loading a Mossberg 930

Just got one today and tore it down to familiarize myself with it. Reassembled and ran a function check, and all is well. Maybe I'm imagining, but when I lock the bolt to the rear and hit the bolt release, it doesn't slam forward with as much force as I think I remember it doing before I tore it down. Also, when I load it, the bolt is forward as the manual says, and I load the shells into the tube. When I pull back on the charging handle to load the first round, it doesn't stay back like when it's empty. It cycles it forward on it's own. Is this normal? The owners manual does not specify.

I don't own one myself, but have played around with a friends', and I seem to remember the slide automatically loading that first shell as you described. As for it not seeming to rack forward with a ton of force, the one I've had experience with also felt very soft and smooth compared to other auto's I've shot, but did not cause any form of malfunctions.

Also, the 930's are all over-bored I believe (may be mistaken), so very light loads may not fully cycle when shot. My friends' would not eject target loads, but then again it wasn't bought as a skeet gun so that really isn't a problem
