This is quite the hoot. Saw it in the NY Times this morning:

It is a blog that discusses how superpowers would interact with the law. So would your secret identity be covered by privacy etc. So I followed the link.

In the blog, it discusses whether various powers that project energy, batarangs, etc. are protected by the 2nd. The conclusions disucss Heller and McDonald. Would you need a CHL for a power ring?

Thus, would Green Lantern have to take the TX CHL test if he were based in Dallas? Is a power ring and AOW.

From what I remember of my comic book and cartoon days, the Super-Heros all operate outside the law with honor. Let's face it, if cops were so good then Super heros would not even be needed.

Batman was not based at the Gotham PD and would not apply for permits for his goodies. If the Super heros from comic book lore were real, our goobermint would try to inflict democracy upon them for their safety or the Greater good. Since the goobermint is essentially organized crime now I would think the Super heros would ultimately be classified at terrorists and war with them.

Would a power ring be considered a DD and be registered with the ATF?

I always wondered about Batman. He wasn’t married and kept a young boy living with him and made him wear short shorts. He had all kind of chances with Bat Woman but didn’t follow up.
