Hunting around Alamagordo, NM?
The USAF is sending me to NM during deer season this year. Anyone hunting around the Alamagordo area that could give me some insight on opportunities in the area?

My brother-in-law lives there. According to him the only thing within 100 miles is SAND and lots of it.
Best of luck. |

Do a quick search for "deer hunting cloudcroft NM". Alamogordo
sits right against the base of the mountains---it's a fairly short drive up the mountain to Cloudcroft and deer country. You getting sent to Holloman? My son was stationed there for a few years. Interesting place to visit. |

I spent a long TDY at Holloman in the 80's. One weekend, I rented a car and drove to Cloudcroft to do some hiking. I followed a deer trail for several miles and observed much fresh sign.

Yep, will be hanging my hat at Holloman. Thanks for the inputs so far. I also heard about the oryx hunts over on White Sands. Will need to research those a little more.
With the German contingent there, I am hoping to find some good schnitzel! Haven't had any since my days at Ramstein and Rhein Main.
