If you are willing to spend about a grand consider the Rohrbaugh R9S as well.

I've had one for a few years...Gorgeous, 100% reliable and packs quite a punch in a very small and very light package. I even shoot it pretty well (considering its very small sight axis)

I guess I'm an old stick in the mud, (and cheap too) when I do carry a .9mm it's an old S&W 469 like this one.

Check out the Walther PPS in 9mm or .40 if you prefer. They are excellent pistols.

I've had one in 9mm for two years. It's very accurate and after 1500 rds. of assorted fmj and jhp I've had zero failures of any kind.

The PPS also doesn't require a 200-300 rd. break-in period like Kahr pistols.

I own 3 Kahrs...a pm9, cw9 and cw45...and yes the triggers ARE excellent. Yes, they do have a longer pull than any weapon I've had but they're also the smoothest of any weapon I've had. If I could keep only 1 of these 3, it'd probably be the pm9 even tho' I love my .45.

I don't think a Kahr needs a 200 round break-in period despite what the manual says - I have shot pretty much all the cheap ammo I could through my PM9 [Tula, WWB, Federal] and not one issue with the first 200 rounds or subsequent 300 plus...

I confess, I was put off by that line in the manual from Kahr but it sure outshined the "jamomatic" Taurus 709 I had [that just seemed to choke on WWB and Federal].

The Rohrbaugh is a very fine gun, but I certainly wouldn't consider it the best 9mm CCW. I'd consider it the best back-up, pocket-sized CCW, 9mm or otherwise.

My personal opinion is that a primary CCW in 9mm should have something more than the vestigial LCP-like sights of the Rohrbaugh, should be durable enough to handle frequent practice, and should able to handle +P SD rounds. The harsh recoil of the Rohrbaugh combined with the tiny sights make fast and accurate follow-up shots a tall order, especially under less-than-ideal conditions.

The PPS gets my vote as the best all-around 9mm CCW.

Sprindfield EMP triggers are SHORT, very smooth and clean breaking. Better than a Kahr, or any gun w/ a DA trigger.

I have a Kahr K9 Elite 98. It is a great gun, but it is a little heavy. Just how much lighter are the P9's? Will I really notice a difference? Trying to fight off the polymer urge....That new Ruger looks pretty slick. Sig 250's are cheap right now. My brother has a Glock 26 and likes it.. Must ...fight... off ...urge to buy another gun....

CZ P-01. Not a tiny gun, but not a big one either. Very concealable, and you'll be shocked at how accurate it is and how comfortable it is to fire.

The little Kahr PM9 has to be the best deep conceal 9mm on the market. Mine has been a constant companion during warm weather months when concealment can be difficult. The trigger is smooth as silk.

The P9 weighs 17 ounces.
The K9 weighs 25 ounces.

I think most people would find that a noticable difference. One reason I choose to carry the P9 over the K9, (which I actually like better), is the weight issue.

I was going to pick up a Taurus Slim on Tues; this (and other threads) have turned me off it "Jamamatic?"

So I am going for the KelTec P9, plus they are made an hour away from me.

But I will not give advice on this point, not sure myself! Oh Mr. Glock, where is your slim 9mm?

For those of you preaching the p239 with a dak trigger, have you had any issues with pin walkout?

I liked the gun overall when I owned one, but was put off by the functionality issues.
