Shortening of barrel on Fabarm

I just aquired another Fabarm, but this is the Field version 28" barrel of the FP6. I was wondering if i could have the barrel shortened to about 22 and recrowned. Replacement barrels are more expensive than the shotgun itself so thats not an option. Is there any legal issuses. I know 14" and under is considered a class III.
