1911 in 9mm--who makes one?

My wife wants a new gun.

I thought she should try a 1911, ltwt frame, 4-5" barrel (commander style). Does anyone currently manufacture one? Or had made one at some point?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

i seem to remember sometime in the '80s the Colt made their Gov't model in a 9mm iteration. i also think it was available in the commander model.

Wilson Combat makes a 9mm in a full size frame & slide, and I believe that they still have a sufficient number of alloy frames (full size), left over from the LW Protector Series. So I guess it is possible for them to build you one in that configuration. Give them a call at: 800-955-4856 and ask for Nick or Greg in sales.

STI Trojans can be had in 9 mm
There are some Colts floating around in 9 mm
Kimber has a special edition model in 9 mm, but it is full sized
IIRC, Springfield Armory had some 9 mm offerings

I have a Kimber 1911 in 9mm, but it is NOT an alloy frame. That makes it pretty heavy for a 9mm. Watch-Six
