Remington 870 Wingmaster question
I have an opportunity to buy a used 870 that was built in 1988/1989 - it has never been fired. Is there an appreciable difference in quality with that vintage vs. a new one? Where were they made 20 years ago?

The 870's have always been made at the Remington factory in Ilion, New York.
Many people will say that current guns of all makes are not quite as good as guns made 20 years ago. Personally, since the Wingmaster is Remington's top of the line commercial 870, I don't think the quality has dropped all that much. |

i have 2 wingmasters, both made before 88. heck both made before 86. 1 bought around 87 or 88. quality is great, goes bang when i tell it too. and i don't have to worry about those silly dimples in the magazine tube either .
