bullet cannelure and crimping

Hi,
I am new to reloading and have a question. This is specifically with regard to pulled 7.62x25 bullets(85 gr) being used in .30 luger cartridges.

Since the cannelure on these bullets is further down from the tip on this bullet, than a standard .30 Luger bullet:

Can I still crimp the .30 luger case on the bullet even if there is no cannelure or on the area that does not have the cannelure? (this might be a real stupid question)

Thanks
Anand

No, when you crimp without a cannelure it will buldge the neck, and cause a feeding problum, this is for a roll crimp, you mite be able to use a taper crimp. As long as you have good neck tinsion a crimp is not needed, all i do is size and seat, even full power 44mags, to 338mags.
