Remington Model 760

I have a Remington model 760 with a side mounted scope. I want to replace the scope but I have not been able to find a side mount or scope rings to adapt to my current setup. The rifle does not have holes on top to switch over to a top mount setup. The side mount I currently have was manufactured by Griffin & Howe. I have visited their web site but they want $125 for the rings. I didn't want to spend that much if I didn't have to. Does anyone know of an alternative solution?

Contact Brownells

You can call and talk to Brownells tech support 1-800-741-0015. You can also go to their website www.brownells.com check out part number 767-000-821. This is a mount for a Remington Shotgun 870/1100/1187. I am 99% sure that the trigger plate pin hole spacing is identical. They don't list it for that application because most use the tapped receiver holes. This just might be an option for you. Good Luck.

No!

I am aware that the 760 is a rifle. But, I am pretty sure the receivers are close enough that you could use the scope mount which is advertised for the shotguns. Remington made the 760 & 740 to match the 870 configuration. This was an attempt to give the sportsman matching guns. The feel and handleing is the same. the trigger and safety are indentical locations. Call Brownells and ask one of the tech guys, they can give you a 100% answer if that mount will work for your application.
