Claims about product in S.W.A.T. magazine

A guy at a local gun show was selling a brand of scopes called SEALs and clamed that they ad been in one of the isues of S.W.A.T. I figured that this would be just the right forum to ask if anyone can confirm this and if anyone knows anthing baout the quality of the scope. Thanks. A pm or email would be great reguarding this.

In my humble opinion?
One step below Redfield.

One was reviewed personally by me at a Prairie Dog hunt in WY; July 2007. There was no felt need to cover it in the pages of SWAT. They were, however, advertised in SWAT as your dealer claims. Advertising does not a Review make.

I thought you were asking if we had any opinion about the quality of the scope and if it was advertised in the pages of SWAT. The answers are "Yes" and "Yes".

As to the opinion, YMMV. I did not say it was "crap". I said it was, IMHO, one step below a Redfield in personal utility. Lots of people use Redfields to very good effect. As always, YMMV.

Caveat Emptor includes "buying" my personal opinion. Capisco?

what were the shortcomings and strong points you saw witht the scope? I have not had the chance to actually test the scope under field conditions, and am trying to decide if I would be better off findinganotherperson to sell it to, or to save it for another rifle. thanks

Terrible light gathering ability.
Too many bells and whistles.
Cheaply made.
Too fragile (I suspect).
Redfield quality optics.

Other than that, I liked it much.
