Gun Belts

Looking for recommendations and reviews on Gun Belts. I've seen prices anywhere from $30.00 to WHEW

The Jake Holster

theisholsters.com

The Jake Holster

Price: $68.50 shipped

Quality: Excellent. I've worn it for about a month now and it feels sturdy and comfortable. Very sturdy buckle and appearance is great - can go naturally with slacks or jeans. Difference between wearing this belt and wearing my thickest/heaviest belt (bought at ~ $40) is still night and day when holstering same set up.

This will not sag at all while other belt would sag. Unfortunately I don't have experience with other gun belts to compare it to, but from my experience I can highly recommend this belt.

Simply Rugged has nice quality leather belts capable of supporting a holster. I'm wearing one now with a 92FS in a pancake holster.

If you are asking about an old west style gun belt then Cochise Leather makes some fine rigs that are affordable.

Also:
Comptac - reinforced belts (and excellent IWB and OWB holsters for that matter)

The Beltman - double hide and other belts with differing leathers including horse and elephant I think. I use these belts and they are excellent and perfect for this purpose. Plus they just look like, well belts.

I'm about to order a belt from an outfit called Amish Leather. They make theirs of 12-13 ounce cowhide, in various widths. That's the heaviest leather I've seen offered for years, and shouldn't be as stiff as the internally reinforced belts.

Just bought a Bullbelt last month. Fine bull hide belt. Sturdy and doesn't sag at all.
$78.99 after shipping and worth every penny.

Belts; gun belts...

Many new & entry level gun owners/armed professionals do not understand or know that a quality, lined gun belt is an important part of a carry system.
Gun belts should be stiff & able to support a fully loaded firearm, handcuffs, white-light, spare magazines, OC spray, etc.

Good designs & firms include: Mitch Rosen, Ken Null, Don Hume, Blackhawk.com, 5.11 Tactical, Milt Sparks, Thebeltman.net, Safariland, Galco, Tex Shoemaker, Kirkpatrick Leather, Alessi, Kramer, DeSantis.

Good websites for gear/belts; www.uscav.com www.qmuniforms.com www.natchezss.com www.galls.com www.policehq.com .
Many savvy pistol packers & "quiet professionals" get horsehide belts or get the type that contour to a 1.25" dress belt in front but are 1.5" around the waist.

CF
ps: due to the 2013 gun panic & custom nature, always call first & confirm the item price and/or shop times. Many places are back-ordered.

Gun belts can be expensive but from what I have experienced, cheap gun belts just aren't worth the money. Do yourself a favor, spend the money if you can afford it and buy a well made gun belt. They will last much longer and support your gun much better than a cheaper gun belt.

I use, and suggest, The Beltman. A dual layer bull hide starts at $70. A horse hide starts at $80 and are worth every penny.

My first gun belt was a Ross that cost $40. It lasted for two years. My Beltman is at least 5 years old and is almost as stiff as the day I first tried it on. It still has several years left in it as a gun belt.

By spending a little more up front, you'll save money in the long run. Your carry rig will ride better too as the belt is the most vital part of set up including the holster.

My first gunbelt was a Blackhawk CQC I got on Amazon. I wouldn't reccomend it, because although it was sturdy, the leather on the outside began peeling off after 4-6 months.

I have a bladetech belt now, and it came reccomended by the cat who made my holster. Decent price, but should last much longer than my other. I'd reccomend it.

Cross-breed...

I'd be aware of the fact that the owner/CEO passed on last year so keep that in mind if you order any products.

I wasn't aware of that until now, but I got an OWB holster from them in 2011 and a mini-tuck this year. Same excellent quality and fit both times. Good people to work with.

I've got a Crossbreed belt that I purchased about four years ago.

Decent belt but I prefer Beltman.

AM post...

I saw the High Noon Holsters Rock Steady belt(shark skin format). It was very .

Not crazy about the metal belt keeper but the design looks slick.

If I drop a few LBs this summer, I may go that route for a concealed carry rig.

I have all my leather work done by CJ Vandermhulen in Riverton Wyoming. Belts, holsters, mag and ammo pouches, and even saddles.

He works for G-G saddles, and many cowboys know exactly who they are. Dennis George's saddles are famous all around the country.

Anyway I have never seen better quality gun leather at any price, and yet his prices are very reasonable. High end quality and lower than other prices you see.....what's not to love?

Top quality belts from AG Custom Gunleather

I bought one belt from Al Childress in brown, and liked it so much I bought another in black. These are horsehide, tough as nails, with beautiful finishing. Check his website:

http://agcustomgunleather.com/

I also have a belt from Crossbreed, but it sits in the closet.

If and when I need another belt, AG will be my first choice

Duluth Trading...

Duluth Trading puts out a lot of manly gear & clothing.
Their stretch jean ad is funny; .
Many armed professionals & concealed carry license holders suggest Duluth Trading men's belts.
