remington model 582 questions...

Hi -

I just purchased a remington model 582 .22 bolt action and was wondering if anyone knows about the possibility of scoping it..?

I do see that the receiver has two horizontal grooves machined but I don't know if they are for looks only (they do look sort of shallow for scope mounting) or if the grooves are indeed intended for socpe mounting.

Any infor on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thank!

Remington 582---

Yes you can mount a scope in those grooves. I have a few of those
rifles and they're Great shooters. Glad that you found one.
Good Luck with it.

Those grooves accept tip-off mounts. They will hold a scope securely if it is properly mounted.
