Comment on Cimarron quality
I just acquired a 1862 Pocket Police from a private sale, it's Cimarron Uberti. I have to say this is the best quality Italian revolver I have had my hands on.
First the bad. You can see were the proof marks were not completely polished off the frame and barrel lug, this is nit picking. Now the good. The color case is excellent, blue is excellent. marking on top of barrel is in the old Colt like script using Cimarron's name and address. THE ARBOR FITS PERFECT, I fell out of my chair. First time I have seen a replica fit so well, other than 2nd and 3rd gens. Timing is spot on. So, is the Cimarron worth the extra money? If all there guns are like this 62 then it is. This revolver is as good as any 2nd gen Colt I own with minor finish flaws, mechanically it's outstanding. Good job Uberti. Late ASM for comparison. Nice 5-shot police! All the police models should be small and 5-shot like this, unlike all the modified 1860s the others are peddling!
