Steel shot in H&R 088

I've got a H&R model 88 shotgun, and I'm wondering if it is ok to use steel shot. It is one of those single shot break open guns, like NEF makes now. I'm guessing it was made in the mid-80's.

I have shot steel through it a few times, but I'm not sure if it can take a lot of this.

As you may know, H&R is no longer in business and I don't have a manual.

I know it is a inexpensive gun, but I'd still rather not ruin it.
