Bulk 9mm

Finally ran out of my initial 300 rounds of Hornady FMJs that I bought at local reloading shop just to get up and do function testing - but they are far to expensive for continued use.

I have also been contemplating bumping up to a 124 grain bullet.

I would like to do a bulk order at least 500-1000. Any recommendations for good performance in a Beretta 92 provided that I do my part.

Am open to FMJ (for the right price), plated, or lead. However this gun has never seen cast lead bullets, so any pointers on how the 92 would perform with them would be helpful.

Don't have a Beretta 92, but I've been pleased with 124 grain Berry's plated in HBFP and HBRNTP. Can get direct from Berry's or from places like Powder Valley, Graf & Sons, etc.

Also pleased with the groups I got from 115 gr. SB MO Bullet Co. I recently ordered from Powder Valley.

While I haven't tinkered with them (yet), there are folks who sing the praises of Precision Delta, Zero and Montana Gold in the FMJ bullet line.

I have had good results with Berry's bullets. I reload with the 115 gr. Quality and uniformity is good. I can't tell them apart from factory loads like American eagle.

You can find cast bullets from a company called friends wood bullet on gun broker 1000 125 grain round nose for about 60 dollars they shoot great out of my glock 19 and 26.

I use a 125 grain lead round nose from Crown Bullets in Interlachen Florida. At $31.00 for 500 I load 100 rounds for about $10.80 per hundred. They ship in a USPS Flat Rate Box for $15.00 so I get 2000 at a time. They work fine through my Glock and 1911.

The Berry's 124 grain HP has worked well for me. I load them with TiteGroup most of the time. In a pinch I will use Bull's Eye. All of my 9mm pistols shoot well with them.

Shooting lead has very little to do with the brand or model of the gun and very much to do with the individual barrel that is in your gun. In a perfect world your barrel would measure .355 from groove to groove and you would be able to shoot .356 bullets down it without problem. In reality barrels aren't always exactly what they should be and so sometimes problems arise from it. If the barrel is a little smaller like .354, you are still good to go with lead bullets. But when the barrel starts getting larger than spec, like .357+ those lead bullets can have all sorts of problems beyond just leading your barrel. Awful accuracy and keyholing can be very common.

The easy way to test this is to buy some lead bullets and shoot them. Simple enough right? If they are accurate then there probably isn't a problem. Odds are good they will leaving leading in your barrel anyway but most cast bullets are too hard for the velocities people shoot them at. Not a sizing problem at all.

The more cautious way will be to slug your barrel and will require a soft piece of lead bigger than your barrel (like a big fishing weight), a wooden dowel, a hammer and some way to accurately measure the lead weight after you force it down your barrel. Look at Missouri Bullet Co. for lead and Precision Delta for jacketed. Both good bullets and I don't believe you will beat their prices anywhere.

If you are willing to increase your order quantity, I just can't find any other bullets that will be competitive with the Montana Gold 115 gr. FMJ delivered to your door for $0.07625 each.

Yes I can buy lead for slightly less, but for the small increase in cost I would prefer to use jacketed. And I can never find plated for even close to that price. YMMV

I think they are about the same cost as Berry's plated but you get a full jacketed bullet. Most IDPA, USPSA and, IPSC competitors shoot Montana Gold bullets. Great bullets!

My reloads in my Beretta 92 has been issue less. 115 grain lead,125 grain lead no problem with Titegroup powder. In bulk plated or fmj's will cost around 1 1/2 to 2 cents more than lead bullets.

I use Penn’s 125 (dia .356) with a mid load of W231. 60$ for 1000.
I don’t have a 92 but my Beretta Cougar and Storm carbine like it a lot. With the Carbine I have had groups under 4 inches at 100 but the drop is significant.
