What "continuing chemical reactions" are you talking about? The CO or CO2 will not disolve in gaseous H20. Anyways, you have a 1:11 ratio of solid to gas any way you look at it, for comparison purposes looking at Temperature you really have to look at burn rate. The faster pressure increases the faster temperature increases.
