I don't know if that trade is a good deal or not but be advised, that is not the same pistol that the Navy SEALs get. The Seal guns receive a lot more scrutiny.

I have a P226 .40, and 2 P239 .40, but I think they serve different porpoises.
Are they new, or used?
I guess $ 500 for the 239 is fair, of course depending on shape.

In that case the price difference is hundreds of $$$s.
Otherwise they are both very good/nice, big difference is mag. cap.

Please explain.
How much less scrutiny do you think we gave ours?

I think the navy seal has better coating inside/outside.

You think?
If it has the anchor, it's the same gun.

For a while they were talking about making better coating, so I guess it depends when it was made, or maybe nothing happened. I'm not that updated.

This is from this article."The internals are all phosphate coated, versus just the slide and frame. This help protect .... IMHO,"

All the new MK-25 Navy's still use the same old phosphate coating as in the past. Myself I could do without it.
I really don't see me wading into salt water soon.
The MK-25 aka P226 9mm is a great full sized Sig handgun,it's a good shooter very trusty with no failures.

No. The MK-25 is the same gun that goes to military contracts.

I also agree. I'm not entirely sure what the OP is trying to say in the post. I see the gun shop want to trade him... but I'm not sure if he already has a MK25 to trade for a 239... or has a 239 to trade for a MK25?

Older Sigs are almost always better than the newer Sigs. Anyone who tells you different has not been around the platform very long. I've owned them for close to twenty years and I'm not one of those that think only the W Germany ones are the best ones to chose. In fact, I think some of the mid 90's guns are some of the best they've ever produced, many of them assembled right in Exeter NH.

I have a Sig MK-25 Navy and it's a great shooting fullsized 9mm handgun. I would go for it,getting rid of the .40 alone is worth a lot.

That's not what our sig rep told me. I will admit I'm not at the factory.

Link to your source, please?

Not even close seems like a bit of a stretch, unless the military contract guns are hand crafted in some alternate facility by some kind of exotic material.
