I have a box of 50 Longshot test loads ready for the range next saturday using 135 and 150gr Noslers. I'll post results then.

Thanks.
I spent an hour talking to George in tech support at Hodgodon and they are really excited about Longshot in the 40SW cartridge. It's a tad slower than AA#7 but faster than Blue dot. Low flash and low pressure yet solid velocity. He recommended that if you reload 40SW, you should be using Longshot and FMJ bullets. Several different powder makers have steered me away even from the copper plated too. Excepet for Accurate Arms, they have some loads listed on the Rainier Bullet page website with their powders. It's the best powder for the job that Hodgdon makes. Powder that came recommended were LongShot, Universal, AA#5, Power Pistol. I'm really interested in Longshot because it's a ball powder and quick filling too. so its a good powder for progressive reloaders as well.
