Rifle barrel material

Just out of pure curiosity, if cost were no object, what material would make the most durable rifle barrel?

Probably one of the super alloys like Stellite. There's a reason that it's used as a liner in the chamber and early part of the barrel in machine guns like the M2 and M60.

Probably wouldn't be the most accurate, since it's so hard to machine. But you asked about durability.
