Ruger SR 1911 help.
I am looking for a 1911 and I really like the looks and specs of the SR 1911 with the 4 1/4" barrel. Has anyone had any experience with these? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the regular sized SR1911 great gun, I haven't heard anything bad about the commander sized gun, but haven't shot one.

Got mine last week and have only run 120 rounds thru it. So far so good.

Nice....
I got a SR1911 CMD about a month ago, only have been able to take it to the range once....
BUT....1'st shot @ about 15 yards-took out the center bulls eye!(using 230gr. Blazer Brass) All shots after that, right to POA. I LIKE this pistol very much! Fit and finish, excellent. No rattle, couldn't be happier! Pud

Stopped by a gun shop this morning and they had one in the display case. First one I've seen. Since I waited 8 months on a list to get my full sized SR 1911 I had the Commander follow me home. Price was the same as they're getting for the full size. My full size has been great. The shorter version is now all cleaned and lubed and ready for a trip tothe range over the weekend.

Not to be nosy or rude . . . but when you can find these - either full size or the cmdr . . . what price range are they selling them for? I have yet to be able to find one that I can handle and look at. Congrats to those of you that have been able to get them!
