Colt Detective Spec. Grips

I have a 1963 .38 Colt Detective Special (2nd variation) that was passed on to me from my uncle, and have been trying to find a more comfortable grip. I'd prefer a rubber type grip, but anything that molds to the hand for better shooting support would be nice. I've seen a lot of wooden grips but would prefer not to pay $100 for a new grip. Any suggestions?

You can still find the Pachmayr rubber grips with the Colt insert. J&G Sales had them listed on Ebay and all sold quickly. I have a set on my 1969 vintage Cobra and they feel great. I paid $29 for a mint pair and $40 for a NIB set. These grips were made for the D frame and fit quite well.

Hogue makes a molded finger-groove grip for the Dick Spl. I have a set on mine. I'm not sure which model it is. It has a full length shroud under the barrel. After removing the wood grips, I had to knock out the roll pin at the bottom of the frame. Grip then slid right on.
