Do you mean VV N-340?

VV usually means VihtaVuori which is a Finnish company...they are an offshoot of Lapua(the Finnish ammo manufacturer). It is very clean burning and consistent powder. Here is their url,

http://www.lapua.com/vihtavuori/index.html

There are several places around that carry it...just see who has the best prices.

Hope this helps...

My book says V not W. Its the "Modern Reloading" By Richard Lee book. I'm trying to get it so I can get close to NATO specs for 9mm. And it looks like it Might be good for 45acp also.

Not a W but VV or V V for VihtaVuori. N340 is a great powder for max loads in .45acp.

If you like recoil in 9mm it is good for that, too. Others here like 3N37 and N350 for super hot stuff in 9mm.

For 9mm with the VV powders I use N320. It is a faster burning powder than the above and has a bit less recoil.

Speed wise VV powders from fastest to slowest are:
N310
N320
N330
N340
3N37
N350

3N37 is a different formulation, hence its different number designator. For a lot of calibers the charge weights for 3N37 and N350 are pretty much the same.

I went with the 340 since it looks like its good for 9mm and 45ACP. I don't like keeping too many kinds of powder around.

Generally speaking, all of the 3XX series powders will work well with those calibers; I personally use 320 for 9mm, 40S&W and 45ACP since the performance characteristics are similar to W231 without the residue. 340 3N37 and 350 are slower burning powders that I use for 38 Super Comp, 9X21 and 9X23.
