New (to me) SIG P220
I just drove 70 miles, in Miami holiday traffic. I barely left 1st gear. In that horrible mpg Mustang GT. High and low and finally got my SIG P220 made in Germany
Pics now. And no range report till Thursday. Traded my Glock 34 and an undisclosed amount of cash for it. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356137906.069335.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356137931.943734.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356137960.822151.jpg |

A SIG Model 220 Carry is one of my favorite pistols to carry concealed. Reliable, accurate and well-made. I don't know (or care) how much "undisclosed" amount of cash you had to fork out to consumate the deal, but if you ended up with a SIG instead of a Glock, you did good.

I like you lmao. Thanks! I love this thing!
My muscle memory is tuned to guns without an external safety. I love my .45's However, under stress I cannot deploy a 1911 as efficiently as I thought I could. Rather than pick up the muscle memory (which takes a while and money. Especially in .45) to become adequate to special standards to a 1911. I just got a new gun. And cleared out another Glock lol. Love this thing. I'm cleaning it right now. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356139115.566143.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356139174.529984.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356139201.278242.jpg |

Can't seem to take the extractor out. I've never seen it like this before O_O
Only internal extractor guns I've done this to before have been 1911's. Any pointers? There's a LOT of carbon deposit on that extractor. |

Excellent choice. I have been drooling over a P220 myself. Can't explain why, but told the wife it was the same way with her. Maybe she put one under the tree for me.

anybody know if these grips will fit. Haven't done a lot of research on my 220 such as year it was made, generation, etc.

Congrats Constantine.
The P220 is a stunning pistol!! Easily my favorite .45 pistol. This is mine that I bought new in 1996. |

The slim grips worked like a charm on mine... Not sure what the year cut off point is on what it does or doesn't work with...
Congratulations its a sweet gun and my favorite carry!

In my experience the best grips for the P220 are the ones seen in sigarms228 pic. They are stellar perfectly slim and perfectly grippy, if that is actually a word, LOL
They are what my P220 wears and I have tried everything from Houge runner with and without finger groove, Nills, current Sig plastic etc.....

You guys are awesome. I feel the P220 love! I'm out with my girl now. At the mall. She's trying on clothes. The P220 is with me :x first gun I carry before shooting. Don't judge me lol.
I really want slimmer grips that the hogue I have on them now. You guys know anything that'll fit mine. Apparently they're different and I can't tell. I'd like factory slim plastics. I saw on top gun supply but it says its for newer sigs. Mine is older. Or so I think. This thing is SO much lighter than my 1911's. |

Remember my friend the P220 is on the list of guns that can have the E2 Grip mod... I know I considered it for my own yesterday... Decided against it based on the money put into my crimson trace... Couldn't use the crimson trace after the mod...
E2 is seriously tempting and relatively inexpensive.. something like $100.

Congratulations! I just absolutely love my old SIG P220. Nothing else shoots like it.
For quite awhile now I've been saying that mine was a 1988 W. German P220. Well I recently saw a post that showed a two letter marking below the barrell and it found out that mine is a 1995. I was shocked!!! I had to think about where I was, in what city, at what part of my life, what did my friend buy at the same time, and realized that yes, I did purchase it in 1995. Still very much made in W. Germany. To hijack your thread just a lil' bit Constantine, I have a question for you P220 afficionado's. I want to keep the "dot the i" sights, but want to put in night sights. They are very hard to find. Then it hit me, can I simply put on a front night sight, and if so, what # is that sight? Is it a #6? Again, congrats and enjoy... |

ugh. Love it.
Anyways... B! lol... Don't get mad at me. But I took the e2 grips off my P226 and put the normal ones :x I'm not too fond of them. They felt good and all. But my hands are long. I can't imagine the e2 on my new P220! Smokehouse, awesome! Glad you love yours too. Looks great. And no hijacking at all. I was thinking the exact same thing. I love the sights but would like the front in a trijicon HD setup as well. Anyone else know where I can get slim grips? :| and that front night sight? |

DAyum Constantine, that 220 looks awfully familiar! I know you are gonna love that. As far as the front night sight is concerned, I am thinking about the Ameriglo ProGlo Trijicon front sight for $60. It has the illuminated green on the inside, with a painted fluorescent orange around it for a bit better day time shooting. I'm just not positive if the sight that goes on a '95 P220 is a #6 or a #8. I'll just call Sig next week, unless of course someone chimes in on this site.
Let us know how that range test goes. Shot the 220 and the 226 Tacops at the range today. |

I'm going to look that up and just wait on this forum till someone responds on it ::cough::cough:: including you. (no pressure) Nice! Range pics?! I'm really happy I have the 226 and now 220. 3,000+ rds down range by me with my P226 (bought new) I wish I knew the mileage on this P220. Also, anyone know if the P220 comes with stainless steel guide rod from the factory? Or was that added? Cause my P226 has a plastic one. Kind of makes me want to throw on a stainless steel guide rod. |
