Suggestion against closing post.
I am a member of several other online forums and have a suggestion to make that IMHO would improve this site. Nothing is more annoying than to be reading a post that is interesting in discussion only to come to the last post which is by the moderator or staff to find they have closed the post because it was posted in the wrong forum. Every other site I am a member of doesn't close the post, rather move it to the correct forum so discussion can continue. Seems smarter and more curtious than just closing the post.

I'm assuming you're talking about the handgun forums.
Well, to be perfectly honest with you, nothing is more annoying for the staff that to come onto the board and find posts that have been placed in the wrong forum simply because the poster didn't bother to read the forum descriptions. Please read this: http://thefiringline.com/forums/anno....php?f=12&a=97 It gives a very succinct reason as to why posts that have been placed incorrectly in the handgun forums will be either deleted or closed. A very important part of being a gun owner is being cognizant of, and responsible for, your own actions. Why should that be any different on a firearms forum?
