recommend a gunsmith?

you guys recommend a good smith for a weatherby vanguard?
wanting to have a barrel put on this spring in a different caliber...maybe a ackley version,but want a magnum contour or light varmint.....the gun is a 243....barrel will be a shilen or mcgowen,maybe even a douglas....depends how much cash i can generate...

Send the rifle to Shilen, McGowan, or Douglas for a new barrel.

Many gunsmiths won't take the Howa actions in for rebarreling for two reasons:

1. There is a 1200 pound Japanese Sumo Wrestler who apparently installs barrels for them at the factory.
2. Threads are metric and are unavailable on many lathes.
