loads for west coast x-treme

I am new to reloading and am about to purchase my first batch of bullets. I can get lasercast 158gr or west coast x-treme 125gr - 158gr for the same price. I am having trouble finding load data for the west coast x-treme copper plated bullets. In my Lee manual(copper plated 125gr), it has a listing of 4 loads: accur #9-11.8 gr, accur#7-10.1 gr, accur #5-8.0 gr, and accur#2-6.2 gr. accur #9 being the load that fills the case most. I thumbed through the reload guides at Sportsman's Warehouse and couldn't find copper plated bullets listed. I have searched through this site and found interesting that some people say to load them as you would lead. I called their 800 number and a nice lady told me x-treme bullets recommends the Speer Manual loads for any of their jacketed bullets. Does anyone have any good loads for these copper plated bullets. If so could you share with me? I also need to know what primers (mag or reg) and min oal if you have it. I have already bought some unique and trail boss. Thanks in advance.

I have never used Xtreme bullets but have loaded a lot of Berry's and Rainier plated bullets. I load them with low to mid end jacketed data. Berry's web site says to load them with jacketed data and to keep them under 1200 FPS. I haven't had any problems loading plated bullets like this.

Do you use accurate #9? I was wondering if anybody out there has used unique for these copper plated bullets.

You say you're loading 125-158, but don't mention which caliber you're loading. I'm guessing either .38 or .357 at those bullet weights, and I've used both the Lasercast and the x-treme in my 4" 686. In .38 I've been loading the 158 x-treme at 3.3 gr. Bullseye with good results. In .357 I've loaded around 8 gr. unique or 9.5-10 gr. aa#7 for plinking loads with that same x-treme 158 FP.

I've used Unique quite a bit, but found that faster powders work better for me in the lighter target loads I usually shoot in my revolvers. If you want better recommendations then let us know what caliber, gun, and barrel length you're loading for.

Sorry about that guys, I have a 4" ruger gp-100 and am interested in 357 loads with the 125gr west coast x-treme. Do you use magnum primers with these bullets?

With the 158 gr. bullet in .357 I've loaded 8.0 gr. Unique with a standard primer at 1.58 OAL.
