Ruger 77/50-209 primer problem

Fired a few rounds through my Ruger 77/50 today, held about 2" group at 90 yds(3 shots,100 grains-2 pellets-270 grain powerbelt platinums)but I got nervous and quit.I have a 209 adapter and each shot, the spent primer was kicked back between the pin and adapter.Anyone had this problem/know how to fix it?I read a post about shimming the spring?
