Sorry if it's posted somewhere here but just how does one get to be a moderator here?

You select the forum which you wish to moderate.
You issue a challenge to the moderator. You and the moderator meet on the field of honor (the challenged picks the weapons of honor). If you win, you become the new moderator. If you lose, you are never mentioned again. 15,000 quatloos on the challenger!

Being a moderator at several other boards (non-firearms related), I'd say the best way to 'become' a moderator is to follow the rules, help others, and not ask about being a moderator.

Big Calhoun hit the nail on the hed, I think. I moderate a couple of boards, and got the position by simply being helpful to others and following the rules. That said, I'm not sure I'd want to mod here or THR: a LOT more activity than the boards I help with!

Aw c'mon! It's lots of fun... if you're into pain .
As the newest mod here, I knew I was in trouble when Rich said "Welcome to the meat grinder!"
